More About Compass Casting

Sarah Cayce founded Compass Casting in 2013 after moving to Chicago after casting for Terrence Malick and John Welles in her home state. She's been casting for over 16 years, on projects big and small, and loves helping filmmakers and actors feel safe to do their best work.

Sarah is an award-winning director, Emmy-nominated producer, and Artios-nominated casting director. Her second feature film, OXY MORONS, is being distributed by Studio Dome and is available to stream. Cayce's debut feature film, HAPPILY NEVER AFTER, can be seen on Lifetime Movie Network.

When she's not running her casting office or creating her own work, Sarah's hanging out with her wife, probably renovating a building.

Lauren Acord came to Compass Casting from the intense world of Network TV with credits like CHICAGO FIRE and THE BEAR under her belt. Like Sarah at that age, she gets a lot of comments about how young she is for her experience, and blows past expectations with ease.

Her love for bringing together the perfect cast and guiding filmmakers through castings has found a home at Compass Casting, where Lauren moved up from casting assistant to Casting Associate, and will someday be a casting director. She moved up in title and changed from a maiden to a married name, all while casting some of Chicago's craftiest casts. 

​

When Lauren isn't getting her inbox back to zero, she's going to underground metal concerts with her husband. 

Tucker joined the casting office in 2014 and has sat at the feet of lots of auditioning actors during his years in auditions.

 

His strengths are sitting at Sarah's feet while she filters submissions, and knowing when actors are actually crying or faking it. Tucker no longer comes to auditions for the latter strength, but you'll meet him on office days when actors aren't in for auditions.

 

He's getting older, so please give him extra time to answer his emails. He's doing his best without thumbs.
