Bokeh Background is on the hunt to find folks to be in the Olympic Athletic Biopic GABLE about Dan Gable. Filming will take place all over Central Illinois from August through September.

Picture it, Waterloo, Iowa from 1965-1972 - a young Dan Gable wrestles his way through high school, college, and then we travel internationally to the Olympics.


From a heartbreaking beginning to winning it all, this story travels through decades and across the world to bring a champion's journey to life.


who we want

We're looking for folks of all types to fill our stands, because we're going from corn fields to Olympic stadiums. This film is only considering people over the age of 18-years-old. If any roles for kids open up, we'll announce it!

  • College Couple - KISSING - Looking for an actual couple to be see kissing at a party.

  • Parents and Fans at wrestling events from teachers to grandparents, local eccentrics and diner regulars.

  • Crowds cheering in the stands

    • Tbilisi Olympic Fans

    • Russian Stadium Fans

    • College Fans

  • Bar Patrons - Small town bar patrons at the local Waterloo

  • Diner Patrons + Employees

  • Vintage car drivers - Especially if you own a car from this era, make sure to mention it!

  • Truckers + Farm workers - Folks in and around Waterloo, Iowa

  • Film Crews + Media People - American and International film crews. Bonus points if you actually know how to hold sound equipment, or could feel comfrotable being shown operating vintage TV cameras.


stand-ins

We are looking for folks who are available for several days at a time. Stand-ins are more of a crew position because you'll never be seen on camera, but you'll be working more closely with the cast and crew to make the movie. Utility Stand Ins could stand in for multiple people and roles, and role-specific stand-ins just stand-in for one person.


We need folks who will be professional despite the celebrities they'll be standing in for and have a flexible schedule to be available for more than one or two days. Here are the sizing for the folks we're looking for:


  • Utility Stand In #1 - Men, White, 18+, 5'7"-5'10" | 165-185lbs - Booked Weekly Rates

  • Utility Stand In #2 - Women, White, 18+, 5'2"-5'5" | Sizes 2- 6 - Booked Weekly Rates

  • Young Dan Stand-In - Men, White, 18+ - 5'7"-5'9" | 160-170lbs | 40S Jacket - Booked on Daily Rates

  • Dianne Stand-In - Women, White, 18+, (sizes needed) - Booked on Daily Rates

  • Katie Stand-In - Women, White, 30+, 5'1"-5'3" | 115-125lbs | sizes 4-6 - Booked on Daily Rates

  • Mac Stand-In - Men, White, 30+, 5'8"-5'10" | 180-190lbs | 42R Jacket - Booked on Daily Rates


payment

Payment is issued at the end of each work day


  • Stand-Ins: $200/12 hours (guaranteed) - Guaranteed means you'll be paid $200 for the full day, even if you only work some of those hours.

    • Weekly Guarantees for Some Roles: $1,000/week

    • OT is 1.5 x after 12 hours.

  • Background: Varies by day

    • $120 for 8-hours

    • $180 for 12 hours

  • Car Bumps: +$25

If I apply, am I automatically in?

When you apply, you'll be added to the pool that our casting office will sift through to filter people into the correct days. We try to get as many people a chance to be on set, and we'll do our best to make your work dates work for you. While it's not automatic, the fastest way to submit for our consideration.

No, we don't represent anyone. Production will pay you as you leave work for the day, and we never have any hand on talent's payment.

No, you do not need to be a union (SAG-AFTRA) actor to participate as background. Unless you speak in this film, you also won't gain your union eligibility from working background in this film either.

Nope! The booking is only for you, and there will be security at checkin. If you're not on our approved list, you won't get on set.
