what is bokeh background?
Bokeh Background is the background casting division of Compass Casting. It's still lead by our Casting Director, but will often have local teams to the areas where filming takes place, project to project.
"In a perfect world, I love to be involved on the front-end of casting to attach name talent, then do local casting, AND do the background casting," says Casting Director Sarah Cayce. "A holistic approach to casting is my ideal, so I can have a hand in shaping the entire world, not just the speaking roles - so I opened a background office."
what does bokeh mean, and how do you even say it?
In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in out-of-focus parts of an image, whether foreground or background or both. Background isn't the focus of the scene, but adds to the aesthetic quality of films - without BG, projects look like student films.
You say it like this, "Boh-kuh". (Guess who's not a dramaturgy)
what is background casting?
Background (or BG) Casting is the process if finding the right faces to play background actors, or extras, to be in our projects. Background acting means BG actors don't have any lines, but they are in the background of scenes to enhance the realism, help the audience understand the world better, and create movement behind the speaking talent.
