THANK YOU.

Can you believe it? Compass Casting is turning ten!

As we approach this milestone, we can't help but feel incredibly squishy and grateful for everyone who has supported and championed us throughout the years. You've trusted us and cheered us on for an entire decade, and you - actors, filmmakers, friends and family - are the reason we are "the little casting office that could."

We hope you'll join us to celebrate our journey through the last ten years, and to raise a glass to the next ten. The theme is emerald, so wear something green. (:

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of our incredible journey.

Love,

Sarah

August 25th, 2023

6:00-9:30p

2424 W. Montrose Ave. Unit W

Chicago, IL 60618

There is metered parking on Montrose, and free neighborhood parking on side streets.

Nothing! As long as you've RSVPed, there's nothing else you need to bring but yourself.

In the spirit of celebration and giving back, we kindly suggest a donation of $20 when you secure your ticket. Please consider a donation in lieu of a birthday present.

A small portion of the proceeds will be used to provide food and drinks, while the majority will be directed towards the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media

We'll have snacks and drinks (we're keeping it lowkey!), but if you need something more substantial, we highly recommend that you cross the street and grab a slice from our friends at Jimmy's Pizza.

Seriously. It's so damn good.

Please secure a ticket prior to coming to celebrate, so that we know how many friends to expect.

"Founded in 2004 by Two-Time Academy Award Winning Actor Geena Davis, the Institute is the only global research-based organization working collaboratively within the entertainment industry to create gender balance, foster inclusion and reduce negative stereotyping in family entertainment media.

From the beginning, we found that data is the key to mitigating unconscious bias in the creation of entertainment media. Our data driven research, education and advocacy empower and inspire content creators to reimagine the media landscape to reflect the world we live in. The institute has sponsored the largest amount of research ever done on children’s entertainment media, covering over a 30 year span.

Our research is unique in its approach and methods. We are the only public data institute to consistently analyze representations of the six major identities: gender, race/ethnicity, LGBTQIA+, disability, age 50+, and body type in Advertising, Film and Television.

Our data-led research drives our advocacy and empowers our content creators to systemically reimagine and measure their content in order to create inclusive content for our diverse society. Our method is to share our studies and best practices directly with our content partners in a private and collegial way."
