Expanded Synopsis

We follow Nick Cassava, 17, and long time street kid and his friend Micah Talosig, 14, who is new to living on the street. On this day Nick is going to teach Micah how to steal beer from a grocery store. The trip starts out normally, Nick sending Micah out on his own to try and steal a 30 rack of beer, while he plays watch out. Quickly, however, we see that something is wrong with Nick, he has had to develop an almost 6th sense of danger, looking over his shoulder at all times and battling with an invasive PTSD point of view that has him on edge and ready to run at any minute.

As Micah is unable to complete the mission Nick is thrown into the leader role, while his battles with his own mind make his job increasingly difficult, Nick grabs the beer and starts to run but is stopped by someone calling his name. His estranged mother stands right before the exit. Nick tries to talk his way out of the situation, as the employees of the grocery store start to realize what he's in the middle of doing. At the last moment before he's grabbed by security, Micah causes a major distraction by jumping into a soda display. The cans fall on another shopper who proceeds to take his rage out on Micah. nick is frozen in terror as he watches this violence unfold. His mom grab his wrist and take shim home. They share a quiet dinner before Nick disappears back into the streets, haunted by what he saw that day.
